More treats for NSW residents!

Just a day after announcing $50 Stay and Rediscover vouchers, NSW premier Dominic Perrottet has announced a $250 ‘thank you gift’ to parents across the state as part of NSW’s $2.8 billion COVID-19 recovery package.

$250 vouchers for homeschooling parents

As part of the scheme, the $250 voucher will be made available to households with school-aged children. These vouchers will be made available early next year.

“One of the biggest challenges for so many families during lockdowns was learning from home, and now as life returns to normal we want to encourage people to get out and boost economic activity,” the premier said.

“It has been tough, it has been a challenge with close to three months of homeschooling, but you have been the primary educators to ensure none of our children get left behind. In many senses this is a ‘thank you’ that will go some small way towards helping family finances that took a big hit and at the same time supporting businesses and jobs.”

The premier also added that the vouchers can be used between March to October next year.

The vouchers will be made available through Service NSW in March, 2022.

Every household with school-aged children will receive one voucher each. Details are yet to be released on what ‘school-aged’ entails.

It is believed that similar to the Dine and Discover vouchers the $250 vouchers for homeschooling families can be used on zoos, cinemas and other cultural and entertainment facilities.
