Do you like scary movies? We’ve got a spooky new event that might just tip you over the edge. Haus of Horror is back with its final show of the season and they’re going out with a bang. After a successful screening of The Exorcist last month, Parramatta Gaol is once again opening its doors for an eerie and immersive screening of cult slasher flick Scream. Put on your best Ghostface mask and get ready to scream for this Wes Craven classic on Saturday, April 15.
Scream, Parramatta Gaol
In case you need a refresher, Scream follows the story of Sidney Prescott and her friends who are targeted by a killer a year after the death of her mother. The mysterious killer relies on old tropes from Hollywood horror films as inspiration while going on a killing spree.
Thanks to its self-satirising narrative, jump scares, meta exploration of horror and bloody and brutal murders, the movie has remained popular over the years spawning five sequels and countless nightmares. Watching it in a supposedly haunted gaol is bound to be a whole new experience for horror movie enthusiasts.
Like previous screenings, guests will have two hours to explore the morgue, showers and cell blocks of Parramatta Gaol before the main event kicks off at 8pm. Plus food vendors will be on site serving up popcorn, soft drinks and snacks throughout the multi-sensory event along with a live DJ spinning tunes. Seating is on a first-come-first-served basis so get in fast and don’t forget to bring blankets, pillows and low lawn chairs to make your evening extra comfy. Grab your tickets here.
