When travelling overseas, you might’ve hopped on a bright green FlixBus to save a bit of money. Well, this affordable and long-distance bus service is landing in Australia, bringing more connections between major cities in the southeast. The initial network of routes will stop at Melbourne, Albury, Canberra, and Sydney, with rides starting from November 20.

Once it rolls into Australia, Flix will serve passengers across 45 countries, including Canada, Chile, Denmark, Germany, India, Mexico, Türkiye, the UK, and the United States.

The bus comes with free Wi-Fi and power outlets, so you don’t have to spend the whole time feeling bored. Each seat comes with plenty of legroom, as well as adjustable backrests. If you need to use the loo, there are toilets on board. There’s overhead compartments for hand luggage, and a luggage compartment for larger items.
Trips from Sydney to Canberra take about 3.5 hours, while trips to Albury are roughly 8 hours. The longest run, from Sydney to Melbourne, takes just under 12 hours. Overnight buses are available, so you can sleep throughout the trip and benefit from a full day at your destination. You’ll also find strategic stops at international and domestic airports, offering a seamless experience for travellers.
To celebrate the launch in Australia, FlixBus is offering trips for just $9.99. This is valid for trips purchased between now and November 30, and for travel by June 9, 2026.
