From fabulous Italian restaurants and “Little Italy” in the inner west to an authentic Italian village a short drive from Sydney — there are plenty of Italian influences dotted around town. But if you’re after a true celebration of Italian culture, you’ll want to clear your calendar for Sunday, August 17 for the Ferragosto Italian Street Festival. Returning for its 2025 edition, the festival will bring a vibrant celebration to the streets of Five Dock for one day only.
Ferragosto Italian Street Festival
Ferragosto marks 28 years in Sydney in 2025, so celebrations are set to be grand. The much-loved community event has previously attracted over 120,000 visitors annually.
There will be over 200 stalls at the venue serving delicious Italian food, including pasta, cannoli, gelato, pizza, Italian coffee, and more, along with merchandise stalls and more. Street eats will be the highlight, along with heaps of children’s rides, activities, and fun competitions planned. Grab high-quality handcrafted goods or sip on a glass of wine as you enjoy live dance and music performances across Ferragosto’s stages. The vibrant event promises to transport visitors to the streets of Italy with a day chock-full of family-friendly fun.
The festival will take place between Lyons and Queens Roads on Great North Road, Five Dock, from 10am to 5pm and entry is free. Guests can take advantage of a free shuttle bus that will run in a continuous loop from 10am to 5:30pm.
