Pasta, pizza, gnocchi — you’ll find Italian food in practically every corner of Sydney. In fact, Leichhardt in the inner west has even been rebranded to Little Italy. So there’s a lot of great stuff to choose from. But if you’re after a true blue celebration of Italian culture you’ll want to keep this weekend free for the Ferragosto Italian Street Festival. Returning for its 2022 edition, expect a massive celebration on the streets of Five Dock for one day only.
Ferragosto Italian Street Festival
Not only is Ferragosto making a much awaited return this year, it’s also celebrating 25 years in Sydney. The much loved community event has previously attracted a whopping 110,000 visitors annually.
There will be over 150 stalls at the venue serving delicious Italian food from pasta, cannoli, gelato and more along with merchandise stalls and more. Street eats will be the highlight with heaps of children’s rides, activities and fun competitions planned alongside. Grab high quality handcrafted goods or sip on a glass of wine as you enjoy live dance and music performances across Ferragosto five stages.
Celebrity chef Luca Ciano will be curating the festival’s first long lunch to mark Ferragosto’s 25th anniversary. Tickets are now available if you’re keen to partake and include a complimentary drink on arrival, a three-course lunch, a gift bag and live music. And that’s not all. You can enjoy classics like The Bicycle Thieves and Roman Holiday in an open-air cinema as you soak up the sun. It’s all happening for this weekend. Don’t miss it or you might regret it later. Check out their Facebook event page for all the details.
