Don Casamigos is a stylish addition to Darlinghurst’s growing portfolio of exciting eateries. While the recently opened Kissuu brings a combination of disco and Japanese eats, this contemporary Mexican restaurant is all about decadence and intimate gatherings. Complete with luxury interiors and a tequila-heavy cocktail list, the dimly-lit spot in the heart of the inner-city suburb is now open.
Don Casamigos, Darlinghurst
This is the latest offering from the team behind Fortuna Drink and Eat, the cheery and affordable restaurant slinging zesty Italian cuisine, located just around the corner. Spearheaded by hospitality veteran Egon Marzaioli, the menu is inspired by the dynamic food scene of Mexico and Latin America. The raw bar offers ceviche with a choice of kingfish, Australian king prawns or scallops while small plates include comforting patatas bravas, crispy tacos, black Onyx sliced wagyu with salsa, chicken chilindron, Spanish mackerel with escalivada and more.
The drinks menu is a knockout with tequila-infused tipples like the La Rosita mixed with a vanilla-infused house tequila, dry vermouth, and Campari. Plus there’s The Esteban with house tequila and apricot sugar syrup and Don Casamigos’ signature margarita which is seasonally updated.
With dimly lit interiors, velvet furnishings and deep wooden tones, the decor compliments the rich menu offerings and makes for an excellent spot for intimate catchups.
“We want guests to feel welcome from the moment they walk in, to the moment they leave…no matter what has happened to you that day, you know that once you step foot in Don Casamigos, it’s a whole different experience,” venue manager, Brenden Kanikevich said.
Don Casamigos is now open for bookings and you can snag a spot on their website.
