Sydney’s glittering waterfront is about to gain a dazzling new addition, with Doltone House officially receiving planning approval for a landmark events venue in the heart of Darling Harbour.
Set to open in late 2027, Doltone House Harbourside will anchor Mirvac’s $2 billion Harbourside redevelopment, transforming the 2–10 Darling Drive site into a 4,500-square-metre playground for luxury events, gala dinners, and waterfront weddings.
Harbour Magic Behind Glass Walls

Designed to host up to 1,250 guests, it will become one of the city’s largest dedicated harbourfront venues—and a major coup for Sydney’s hospitality scene.
“This is an incredibly exciting project for us,” a Doltone House spokesperson said. “We’re thrilled to create a destination that celebrates Sydney’s waterfront while delivering world-class experiences for our clients and guests.”
In addition, the design promises plenty of wow factor: soaring glass walls to maximise Darling Harbour and city views, and a seamless connection to a new public promenade that will link Pyrmont Bridge and the upcoming Pyrmont Metro Station.
Sky-High Greens
Above the event space, a 3,500-square-metre rooftop garden will serve as both an arrival point and a new public oasis, blending greenery with skyline views.
The new venue joins Sydney’s growing convention and tourism precinct, sitting just moments from ICC Sydney and within walking distance of Barangaroo and Cockle Bay. The project is also being developed in collaboration with Mirvac, with support from the NSW Government and City of Sydney.
Ultimately, the Harbourside redevelopment will redefine this corner of the city by combining dining, retail, entertainment, and green space into one dynamic waterfront precinct once it is complete.
So, for Melbourne readers keeping tabs on Sydney’s urban transformations, Doltone House Harbourside looks set to give its southern counterpart, the Docklands and South Wharf precincts, some serious architectural competition.
