Sydney’s south-west has scored a major new drawcard for riders, with one of Australia’s largest pump and jump tracks now open at Deepwater Park in Milperra.
Officially launched this week, the new Deepwater Pump Track transforms a previously underused stretch of parkland into a high-energy riding circuit designed for everyone from first-timers to seasoned BMX riders.
Spanning more than 200 metres, the purpose-built track features a rolling series of jumps, berms and flowing lines that allow riders to build momentum without pedalling.
New Riding Destination For Every Skill Level

The design caters to all skill levels, with three distinct riding zones. A dedicated junior track gives younger riders and beginners space to learn away from faster traffic, while a novice run incorporates a sequence of tabletop features to help build confidence with safer landings.
More experienced riders can tackle an expert line packed with successive jumps, switchbacks and tilted features aimed at testing control, speed and technique.
From Local Demand to Major Project

The project, delivered by City of Canterbury-Bankstown in partnership with the NSW Government, responds to a surge in cycling popularity during the pandemic, when informal dirt tracks began popping up across the region.
Community demand for a safer, purpose-built facility helped push the project forward, with Deepwater Park ultimately selected as the ideal site.
Beyond the track itself, the surrounding precinct has undergone a significant upgrade. New pedestrian paths, shelters, bike racks and seating areas now sit alongside additional parking and an amenities building, turning the space into a destination rather than a quick stop-off. In addition, the Deepwater Park Playspace gives younger kids their own space to burn energy.
Landscaping and tree planting have also been added to create a greener, more inviting environment for families and visitors.
Backed by State Funding

Funded in part through the NSW Government’s Places to Play program, the development reflects a broader push to deliver more accessible, community-focused outdoor spaces across the state.
Its location near the M5, local sports fields and existing cycling routes positions it as an easy addition to weekend plans for families across south-west Sydney.
With free entry and no bookings required, the Deepwater Pump Track will quickly become a go-to spot for riders looking to sharpen their skills—or simply catch some air.
Deepwater Pump Track is now open and located at the corner of Maxwell Avenue and Henry Lawson Drive, Milperra.
