Cockle Bay Christmas Spectacular 2025

Cockle Bay Christmas Spectacular is bringing festive to cheer to Sydney on Saturday 6 December. The event kicks off at 4pm and ends at around 9:30pm.
To kick off the family-friendly Christmas extravaganza, there’ll be a jet-pack show featuring dancing elves flying over the harbour on (you guessed it) jet packs!
Santa will then make his grand arrival, but forget a reindeer sleigh this December—he’ll be making his grand entrance to Darling Harbour on a jet ski. There’ll be plenty of chances to get a picture with the big guy and he might even bring some friends along too *cough* Santa flash mob *cough*. There’s also a Santa letterbox where the kids can send their Christmas wishes off to the North Pole.
Live Christmas music and the firework finale

From 4pm-6pm, there’ll be a live DJ providing all the Christmas tunes to keep the whole family singing and dancing. And the music doesn’t stop there—a festive marching band will be amping up the festive spirit with big band renditions of modern Christmas hits.
To close out the night, a Christmas special fireworks display will be lighting up the harbour and surroundings of Cockle Bay. It’s kicking off at 9pm so make sure to stick around for the grand finale.
Where to hear more Christmas songs live in Sydney this December
We love a bit of classical music in Sydney, and this December, there are several Christmas concerts that reimagine festive hits through the classical lens.
Take the Candlelight series—classical concerts that traditionally pay tribute to works by the likes of Coldplay, Queen and Taylor Swift. But this festive season, they’re getting into the holiday spirit with a series of Christmas concerts performed entirely on strings. There are several candlelit shows lighting up Sydney this December, from a tribute to Christmas movies like Home Alone. The Holiday and Love Actually to a night packed with our favourite festive songs (think “Last Christmas” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”).
