Sydney’s iconic City2Surf fun run is around the corner and everyone from seasoned runners to beginners and casual athletes is invited. The 14-kilometre running event takes place annually, kicking off at Hyde Park and ending at Bondi, hence giving it the name City2Surf. When is City2Surf happening in 2024?
The event returns on Sunday, August 11, 2024. The first set of runners start at about 7.40am with the race winding up at around 2pm at Bondi Beach.
Why is City2Surf held?
While a lot of runners and walkers participate to compete, the running event is aimed to raise money for hundreds of different charities. The event has raised over $52 million for charities since 2008.
Who can participate?
Everyone can participate in City2Surf right from families, walkers, teams and companies, and serious athletes.
What is the entry fee?
The entry fee is $37 for children aged 9 and under, $57 for children aged 10-16 years and $102 for adults 17 and over. You can buy tickets up until Saturday, August 10, unless sold out. Get more details on ticket prices here.

What is the race course?
Equally thrilling is the running course that covers the bustling CBD all the way to some of Sydney’s prettiest beaches. The race will kick off at the intersection of Park Street and College Street with Heartbreak Hill being the halfway point of the race. Runners will also be treated to stunning ocean views along the way before reaching the finish line on Queen Elizabeth Drive at Bondi. Rose Bay and Ben Buckler are some picturesque spots you’ll find on the course.
