If you’re stuck in Sydney and pining for a snow-alpine lodge experience, the Golden Sheaf is bringing the next best thing to our doorstep. For the next few weeks, the Double Bay bar is transforming into a cosy European ski lodge spot. Round up your crew and warm up with cheese and chocolate fondues, play with snow and rug up under plush blankets at the venue.
European ski lodge experience at the Golden Sheaf
The heritage-listed institution is upping the ante with a full-blown winter experience for Sydneysiders. Under their popular 80-year-old giant oak tree, you’ll find fur rugs, cushions, blankets and lights galore.
If you want some comforting drinks to keep the cold at bay, you’ve got a number of exciting options to pick from. Get your hands on the delicious Toasted Marshmallow Espresso Martini or try The Summit Sour — a concoction of peach and rosemary vodka, apricot gin, apple and burnt rosemary. There’s also The Northern Lights — a heady mix of Grey Goose Essences watermelon and basil vodka, pomegranate and kaffir lime and prosecco.
Along with the food and drinks, you’ll find a number of Instagrammable elements spread across the venue. The Courtyard Chairlift, pretty lights and snow machines on Friday and Saturday nights will bring your time at the ‘lodge’ up a notch.
And if you enjoy skiing, you could even stand the chance to win a ski trip to Thredbo worth $3000. Simply get your ski ticket punched as you work your way through the cocktail menu and keep your fingers tightly crossed.
The European alpine ski lodge experience at Golden Sheaf is on now until Wednesday, August 10. Bookings are now open but you’ll want to get in fast.
