Sydney faves Donut Papi have joined forces with Gotcha Fresh Tea for the ultimate donut creation — the boba donut aka the bubble tea donut. This creative creation will be available in select stores in Sydney and Melbourne.
Donut Papi’s bubble tea donut
Taking cues from Gotcha’s popular Thai Milk Tea drink, the bubble tea donut will feature a fluffy yeast-raised donut base with a Thai Milk Tea infused glaze. It’ll also be packed with Gotcha’s warm and delicious boba or chewy tapioca balls.
Run by sibling duo Kenneth and Karen Rodrigueza, Donut Papi started off by selling baked goods in markets around Sydney. After a surge of popularity on social media, they opened their first outpost in Redfern. Popular menu items include ube and pandan doughnuts, cinnamon doughnut–flavoured muffins and Lotus Biscoff cheesecake. Adding to the list is the bubble tea donut — a first of its kind in Australia.
“While we wanted to put the Donut Papi spin on the product, we also needed the flavours to truly reflect Gotcha’s Thai Milk Tea – and of course, we had to make use of the famous Gotcha boba,” Rodrigueza says.
The donut will retail for $9 or you can upgrade to the Thai Milk Tea drink with a donut for $14.50. It launches on Monday, October 24 and will be available only at Gotcha Melbourne Central and Gotcha World Square, Sydney. Check out the Gotcha Tea website for more.
