Bon Fromage is returning to Sydney this winter, bringing tonnes of free cheese to town. Yep. Free cheese. Tonnes of it. From May 31 to June 2, get transported to cheese heaven at Sydney’s massive French cheese festival. Bringing some of the finest cheese of France to our shores, guests will get a chance to sample a variety of cheesy dishes with spectacular harbour views in the backdrop. This year, the festival explores the theme of “366 days of French cheese across days and seasons” with masterclasses, cooking demos, tastings and more.
Bon Fromage, 2024
The popular cheese festival is making an ambitious return with a stellar line-up on the cards which includes food, entertainment and even a cheese market.
Make your way to the Cargo Hall of the Sydney Overseas Passenger Terminal, grab a glass of wine and start snacking as you stroll around the ‘Stinky Market‘. You’ll find a 30-metre tasting table with a diverse variety of cheeses including Triple-Crème, Langres, Pont L’Évêque, and more. For snacks, you can look forward to savoury cob loaf, raclette, fluffy crepes, triple cream choux profiteroles, fried camembert skewers and more with cheese being the star ingredient in every dish.
Apart from the wide range of cheese, a number of other activities are on the agenda as well. Attend masterclasses by some of Australia’s best cheesemongers, groove to live entertainment and find the perfect cheese and booze matching at the venue. Bringing the best of both worlds to the table, quite literally, Bon Fromage will also feature wines, crafted beers, and spirits.
You can also purchase some cheese to take home with you. Plus, it’s happening during Vivid Sydney so expect stunning light displays around the harbour as you feast.
Entry to the festival is free. Check out their website for details.
