Although Sydney has some wickedly good Mexican good, Bar Patrón was a rare dining spot that offered an unparalleled upmarket dining experience. Warm, earthy tones, harbourside vistas and seriously good margaritas made for an essential dining experience in the heart of the city. Now after a long three-year hiatus, the beloved restaurant has reopened its doors with a fresh new menu and new drinks to boot.
Bar Patrón, Circular Quay
If you’ve got a taste for authentic Mexican food, you’ll want to head straight down to this tequila bar and restaurant. With a tasteful dining room and a window-side marble bar offering harbour views, it’s rightfully considered a Sydney institution. Bar Patrón is now re-entering the scene as a flagship of Pacific Concepts. You’ll recognize the hospitality group from other Sydney favourites like El Camino and The Argyle.
A new food and drinks menu will be spotlighted by Food & Beverage Director Molly Haranis and Culinary Director Gabor Denes along with Executive Chef Manuel Diaz.
If you’re wondering what’s new on the menu, hold tight. Scallop ceviche, tuna ensalada, tortilla and octopus huarache will make for entrées along with a packed main menu. There’s everything from Tajima Wagyu Rib Eye with Epazote Chimichurri to Lamb Shoulder Birria and Lobster al Patrón, served with a rich tequila sauce.
As for drinks, the iconic Patrón Tequila, infused in their cocktails and margaritas, is making a comeback. Old favourites like the The Patrón Classic Margarita will also be returning along with the $100 Millionaire’s Margarita if you’re feeling extra indulgent. Tequila enthusiasts can get their hands on a core range of Silver, Reposado and Añejo tequilas along with the Roca Patrón and Gran Patrón collections and the limited-edition Patrón Tequila.
Bar Patrón is now open from Tuesday–Saturday 9am–11pm.
