Winter is one of the best times to explore Sydney’s diverse food scene, with festivals and street food events drawing hungry crowds from across the city. Later this month, one of Western Sydney‘s biggest culinary celebrations will return with another packed program, bringing together international flavours, live entertainment and hands-on experiences over two days. Celebrating its 21st year, Bankstown Bites will once again transform Griffith Park into a vibrant foodie destination, showcasing the rich multicultural communities and diversity of Bankstown’s food scene. From global street food to celebrity chef demonstrations, here’s what visitors can look forward to at this year’s festival.
Bankstown Bites returns this July
The celebrations begin on Friday evening, with Griffith Park transforming into an open-air food market, complete with live music, glowing fire pits and plenty of street food to enjoy under the winter sky. The festivities continue on Saturday, with more than 60 stallholders serving dishes inspired by cuisines from around the world, alongside fresh produce markets, cultural performances, children’s workshops and guided food tours through Bankstown’s town centre.
A new addition for 2026 is the Bankstown Dinner Crawl, a ticketed experience taking diners to three of the area’s standout restaurants: Tokyo Samba, Titanic Restaurant & Cafe and Volcanos Steakhouse. Home cooks can also pick up new skills throughout the festival, with cooking demonstrations hosted by television personality Courtney Roulston and a barbecue masterclass led by Ben Farley, founder of BBQ Cooking School.
Visitors can also book one of several pre-festival food tours, which will explore some of Greenacre, Panania and Campsie’s best local eateries in the lead-up to the main event.
