If the sudden downpour caught you off guard, you’re not alone. The weather did a complete 180 degree turn yesterday with unexpected rain battering many parts of NSW. And now according to the Bureau of Meteorology, a massive storm is expected to hit at least 5 Australian cities with the remnants of cyclone Tiffany circulating around Central Australia.
NSW and QLD will be particularly affected with a heavy expected downpour.
Flash flood warnings have also been issued for many regions in the outback.
While heavy rainfall is expected in northern NSW and southeast QLD from today, South Australia is set to experience the worst of it all with an expected 200mm rain that could potentially cause notable flooding. Melbourne and Perth on the other hand, will see a huge heatwave with Perth expected to record multiple 40C days.
This expected downpour is courtesy ex-tropical cyclone Tiffany and at least five states are set to be soaked in the coming days including NSW, QLD, NT, SA and regional parts of VIC.
