New freedoms are coming sooner than expected.
After a gruelling four months in lockdown, things are finally looking up for NSW. After smashing the 70 per cent vaccination target just 10 days ago, the state reached yet another milestone today with 80 per cent of eligible adults now fully vaccinated — a full week ahead of schedule. New freedoms will be introduced as early as Monday, October 18.
NSW premier Dominic Perrottet confirmed the news via Twitter.

80% in NSW! Been a long wait but we've done it.
Feels great to break this news. Huge thanks to all the nurses and vaccination hub staff at @NSWHealth, the GPs, the pharmacists, and each and every person who rolled up their sleeve to get us here.— Dominic Perrottet (@Dom_Perrottet) October 16, 2021
“The success of our vaccination rate has been absolutely superb. And we’ve asked everybody across our state to make that effort as we hit 80 per cent,” the premier said on Wednesday.

Key restrictions that would ease following the 80 per cent double vaxxed target includes the reopening of nightclubs and schools.
Another key restriction that was supposed to lift was regional travel although that has now been moved to November.
