Excellent pints, stirring music and fabulous energy.
Sydney Solstice festivities will be taking over the city from next week. Over at the CBD precinct, a cluster of small bars centred around York, Clarence and Kent streets and hence known as YCK Laneways, will be hosting an exciting event called Night Over Light.
The event is aimed to celebrate the return of Sydney’s night life after a year of hibernation and will be shedding light on the best of Sydney’s entertainment scene.
The YCK Laneways Night Over Light event will feature over 76 fun events across 15 bars. From June 8-20, you can expect heaps of great food, amazing drinks, live music and culture galore at several beloved Sydney venues.
Since I Left You — the cosy, quirky and modern street-style bar which is a regular haunt for most Sydneysiders will be a participating venue along with The Duke of Clarence — a true British-style pub that always provides an outstanding experience. Other venues include Grandma’s Bar, Uncle Mings, Sammy Jnr, The Swinging Cat, Stitch Bar and Prince of York. Papa Gede, well loved for its intimate and lovely atmosphere and fantastic selection of drinks will also be part of this event.
Night Over Light will also be showcasing some of the best the city has to offer in terms of live music. You can kick back and unwind with a delicious cocktail in tow and experience weekly jazz line-ups, up-tempo funk and boogie, exciting Caribbean-themed music, atmospheric acoustic sets and a lot more.
