More Australians are making time to prioritise rest and recovery, with wellness increasingly becoming an important part of everyday life rather than the occasional indulgence. Across Sydney, the growing popularity of bathhouses, saunas and contrast therapy has fuelled a wave of new openings, and now that momentum is continuing in the west with XtraClubs preparing to open a new location in Parramatta later this year. The upcoming venue will be the brand’s fifth Sydney outpost, bringing its signature self-service recovery concept to the city centre and further expanding its growing network across the Harbour City. XtraClubs set to open new venue in Parramatta
Founded just over two years ago, XtraClubs has quickly expanded across Sydney with locations in Bondi Junction, Green Square, Marrickville and Manly. The wellness concept centres on a self-service bathhouse experience, giving visitors access to a range of recovery facilities under one roof without the premium price tag often associated with traditional wellness clubs.
The new Parramatta outpost will offer a mix of hot and cold therapy experiences designed to help visitors relax and recover, including two traditional Finnish saunas, three infrared saunas, six ice baths with varying temperatures and a steam room designed to support relaxation and post-exercise recovery. Beyond its core facilities, the Parramatta club will introduce two dedicated experience formats. Social Sessions will offer an alcohol-free Saturday night gathering where guests can enjoy music, conversation and mocktails in a relaxed setting, while Guided Sessions will feature immersive 10-minute sauna experiences combining breathwork, essential oils and the European practice of Aufguss, where heat and aromas are circulated throughout the sauna.
