How to get to the Woy Woy waterfall
The stunning waterfall lies deep within the Brisbane Water National Park at Woy Woy on the New South Wales central coast.
Although it’s found on the Tunnel Fire Trail, there are many different ways to get to it and with clever planning, an incredibly rewarding place to explore.
Firstly, drive out of Woy Woy on Woy Woy road and park in front of the gate that leads to the Tunnel Fire Trail. Keep in mind that the location only has room for under 10 cars as it’s still largely a ‘secret’.
Now you need to jump onto the Fire Trail. The length of the walk is around 5.4km so needless to say you’ll need the right footwear and an ample amount of water although most of the walk is flat.
You’ll eventually reach a sign that says to turn right for Tunnel Track and Rocky Ponds. From here, you’ll want to turn left along the unmarked trail.
After about a 15-minute walk, you should see a much smaller, worn-out track. This will lead you to the creek in under a minute.
Now simply follow the creek and it will lead you directly to the top of the waterfall. This steep section is hard to navigate and it is important to be extra careful here since the drop is quite deep. Take a right here and a path will open directing you to the infinity pool.
And that’s it. The Woy Woy waterfall is a true hidden spot but an absolute delight once you make it. Now enjoy a little dip and soak up all the natural beauty around.
Pro tip: although the walk is flat, it can get quite slippery during the rainy season. It’s best avoided when it’s raining. It’s also not suitable for little children at all. Happy exploring!
