NSW is filled with plenty of culturally rich small towns. There’s the coastal landscapes and iconic blowholes of Kiama, the quaint allure of Bowral, and the endless beauty of the Blue Mountains. The Wotif Aussie Town of the Year awards have now been revealed and not one but 3 NSW towns have made the top 10 list. Broken Hill, which has been a magnet for many Hollywood movies over the years, was voted the second best on the list with Victoria’s Bendigo taking out the top spot. Bathurst in the Central Tablelands of NSW made it to the number 5 spot with foodie hotspot Griffith in NSW taking out the number 7 spot. Find the full list below.

Broken Hill is no stranger to the silver screen with many famous movies being shot in the outback region of NSW over the years, the most famous of these being Mad Max 2, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Mission Impossible II and part of Baz Luhrmann’s Australia. Meanwhile, Bathurst is known for its gold rush heritage and for being the home of Australian motor racing. The picturesque town of Griffith is the place to go for foodies, and wine lovers and to discover its excellent museums. Wotif also lauded it for its ‘A Taste of Italy Griffith’ program which honours the town’s Italian heritage every year.
