Westfield Miranda has transformed into a glowing underwater world this winter, with illuminated sea creatures, roaming LED performers and plenty of family-friendly fun taking over after dark. Running throughout the school holidays, the free Festival of Lights at the shopping centre features ocean-inspired light displays and a packed program of activities, giving families another reason to head out on chilly winter evenings. Here’s what you can expect.
Explore glowing installations and family activities at the Festival of Lights
The Festival of Lights offers plenty to keep both older kids and little ones entertained throughout the evening. Families can follow a scavenger hunt through the centre in search of hidden treasures, with children who complete the trail able to redeem a complimentary pirate hat or mermaid hair clip, while stocks last.
On select nights, the entertainment line-up includes glow-in-the-dark face painting, under-the-sea themed craft workshops and festival fairy floss with a luminous twist. Roaming performers, including LED turtles, seahorses, disco ball dancers and an LED hula hoop artist, will also make appearances across the Level 3 Kingsway and Level 4 Rooftop dining precincts.
Most activities run from Thursday to Saturday during the festival, with daytime face painting also available on Sundays. Some activities, including the craft workshops, require advance bookings.
