The Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace in Cremorne is one of Sydney’s most beautiful cinemas. The heritage-listed venue, complete with plush red seating and art-deco theatre design, makes for a wonderful location for any event, but much more so when that event celebrates The Greatest Soundtracks of All Time.
Aria-chart-topping and concert pianist Van-Anh Nguyen, who will be joined by cellist Ezmi Pepper and powerhouse singer Reigan Derry, is stepping onto the theatre’s stage to transport audiences through the music of some of cinema’s greatest movies, most fantastic scenes and memorable movie moments.
The music is 50% of a movie, but it’s 100% the focus on these Sunday nights.
Stepping in with a couple of exceptionally-talented friends, the supremely-gifted pianist Van-Anh Nguyen (Decca Records and Deutsche Grammophon) will lead the enchanting program of live music. With songs from classic cinema like Schindler’s List and Cinema Paradiso to all-time favourites like Grease and James Bond, audiences are in for a Sunday evening treat.
The evening of live music will also contain a hint of the fantastic with Disney films, where the captivating vocals of Reigan Derry (Sony) will reign supreme and add a touch of lyricism to the night, as well as modern-day works from the likes of famed composers Hans Zimmer and John Williams.
The Greatest Soundtracks of All Time by Van-Anh Nguyen joined by Reigan Derry and Ezmi Pepper takes place on Sundays throughout October and the first Sunday of November. The two-hour performances begin at 6:30pm at the Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace in Cremorne. Concession tickets are also available for purchase.
