An ambitious $50 million dollar artificial surf park is coming to Western Sydney. Construction is officially underway with the park on track to open next year. Similar to its Melbourne counterpart, Urbnsurf Sydney will feature a diamond-shaped surf lagoon that will be driven by a modern and innovative Wavegarden “Cove” technology which enables the facility to generate two-meter-high waves every eight seconds.
Their website states:
“Sydney is blessed with a large number of surfing beaches, but access to those beaches and crowding in the line-up is becoming an increasing issue. URBNSURF Sydney will provide an authentic alternative to ocean-based surfing for Sydney residents and visitors to #surfmore safely, easily and often.”

Urbnsurf is set to cater to all levels from beginners to experts, you will also have access to a fully staffed surf academy at the venue, if you want to get some hands-on training.
The 3.6-hectare lagoon will bring the fun and vibes both during the day and night. Thanks to LED lighting, the man-made surf park will dazzle and shine after hours, with options to dip your toes in post-work.
Other Urbnsurf Sydney highlights include two restaurants and exclusive working spaces, a rooftop bar perfect for summer evenings, a family-friendly pool for a fun day out with the kids, a surf park and a children’s playground.
Also on offer is a yoga studio if you’re keen to burn some calories while you’re at it and hot tubs to unplug in.
Conveniently located only 30 minutes from the CBD at the Sydney Olympic Park, Urbnsurf Sydney is gearing up to welcome over 300,000 surfers a year, breathing fresh life into Western Sydney. Construction is currently underway and eager punters could experience the surf park in 2024.
