People around the world have spoken and deemed Manly Beach Australia’s best for 2024 and one of the top 10 in the world. In its annual Travelers’ Choice Awards for 2024, Tripadvisor revealed a list of the world’s best beaches based on millions of traveller reviews. One of Australia’s most famous beaches, Manly has successfully eclipsed the world-famous Bondi to make the list for the second consecutive year. It made it into the top 10 at number 7 for 2024, jumping up a few rankings from number 15 last year.
“Manly Beach is at the centre of everything — literally. Just a quick ride from the Sydney CBD, it’s surrounded by shops, cafes, and more. Go swimming or surfing in the warm waters (there’s a netted area for swimming plus lifeguards on duty), or take a dip in the saltwater pool. Then, go for a stroll along the long beach walkway and take in the panoramic views,” TripAdvisor said.
World’s Best Beaches 2024
With golden sands, sparkling blue waters and vibrant surroundings, Manly captures the essence of Sydney’s coastal living with something on offer for everyone. Tripadvisor lauded it for being a great spot for walking and shopping in the surrounding areas. It further noted that the best time to visit is between March and May or September and November when there are few crowds to battle and comfortable, sunny weather to enjoy. Manly flanks a 1.5-kilometre stretch of soft sand with scenic views and proximity to other secluded beaches and easy access to the CBD by ferry. It’s also a renowned surf spot and also hosted the world’s first-ever surfing contest in 1964.
Well known for its red and orange cliffs, golden sands and crystal clear waters, Portugal’s scenic Praia da Falésia took out the top spot on the list followed by Italy’s lovely Spiaggia dei Conigli. San Sebastian’s La Concha Beach came in hot at number 3 with Hawaii’s wonderful Ka’anapali Beach and the white-sand Grace Bay Beach in the Turks and Caicos islands making it to the top 5.
Anse Lazio in Seychelles, a beach surrounded by palm trees and aquamarine waters made it to number 6 with Sydney’s Manly following closely at number 7. Eagle Beach in Aruba, Siesta Beach in Florida and the stunning Varadero Beach in Cuba rounded off the top 10.
