The Taphouse and it’s leafy, sunlit rooftop bar are celebrating Mardi Gras in style and they’re inviting us all to the party. The popular Darlinghurst venue will be hosting an all-day Mardi Gras extravaganza this weekend on March 5.
The venue will be brimming with a plethora of activities right from Australia’s first ever drag king bottomless brunch, circus performers and live DJ’s for endless party vibes. Also on the cards are pride-themed cocktails and exciting drag performances.
Highlights of the Mardi Gras party
The celebrations will kick off with an exclusive drag king brunch at 11am. Hosted by drag king Axl Rod, make your way through free-flowing cuvée and rosé as you soak up all the good vibes.
Dig into fresh Sydney rock oysters with a watermelon and champagne mignonette along with a refreshing watermelon gazpacho and warmed sourdough to kick things off the right way.
Next up you can catch snazzy performances from Daddy Charles, Dominique Topp and Axl Rod, followed by a watch party of the Mardi Gras Parade from 6pm.
The party doesn’t stop there. The festivities continue well into the night with an exhilarating circus performance by performer Marlena Dali at 11pm and uptempo tunes courtesy of DJ Karmel so you can dance the night away without a care in the world.
If you haven’t been, you can look forward to some seriously great craft beers, delicious bites and all the good vibes. Their rooftop bar delivers an atmosphere that is both relaxed and contagious with hanging plants, warm festoon lights and glittering city views. Don’t be surprised if you end up spending your whole day (and night) there.
