It’s a fascinating showcase of contemporary art and technology and is currently on display at Central Station in Sydney. We feel it is a must-see for anyone interested in the intersection of art, science, and technology, or even if you just enjoy interesting mediums of storytelling.
Our Teleport Enlightenment Review
Conveniently located close to the train station, the exhibition consists of a series of interactive installations that use cutting-edge technology to create immersive experiences for the viewer. Each piece is designed to engage the senses and provoke reflection on the themes of light, time, and space.
The whole exhibition is themed around a central storyline. In order to join the strange world of an extraterrestrial culture, you must pass through the gate of enlightenment. There you will be granted a vision of a cyber shaman’s dreamscape. It is your task to master the art of taming and controlling the digital entities that live in this trance-like reality.
One of the standout installations for us was the STOMP area. This installation allows you to step on pads on the ground and release wisps of colour onto the screen in front of you. Another notable installation is the CAVE, which uses a series of LED lights to create a mesmerizing visual display. As I walked through the tunnel, I was enveloped in a sea of light and colour, which immediately made me feel a sense of wonder.
I don’t want to give too much away, but throughout the exhibition the installations were able to engage all my senses and allow my imagination to run wild. After stepping inside we found ourselves transported to an alternate dimension, a world unlike any other.
One of the things that we found makes this exhibition so special is the way it seamlessly blends art and technology. The installations are not just technological gimmicks; they are works of art that are designed to engage the viewer on multiple levels.
The global art collaboration is apparent and there are award-winning digital artists from Australia, Netherlands, Bali, and USA each contributing their unique styles and techniques to the experience. The use of technology is never intrusive, but rather it serves to enhance the artistic vision of the creators.
So if you’re a fan of contemporary art and technology then the Teleport: enLIGHTenment exhibition is a must-see for you. The exhibition is both beautiful and thought-provoking, and it is a testament to the power of art and technology to inspire and engage us in new and exciting ways.
