Sydney’s getting ready to laugh till it hurts. The Sydney Comedy Festival has unveiled its full 2026 program, promising five weeks of gags, gigs and global heavyweights across the city from 13th April to 17 May—its largest program yet, with more than 400 shows locked in.
International Comics Headline Sydney Comedy Festival

Among this year’s headliners: Tiffany Haddish, who will perform two Australian-exclusive stand-up shows at the State Theatre and Enmore Theatre across the Anzac Day weekend, and Richard Gadd, creator of Netflix’s Baby Reindeer, who will sit down for an in-conversation event at the Sydney Opera House on May 11.
Returning favourites make a strong showing, too. Family-favourite The Great Laugh in the Park returns to Tumbalong Park on 19th April, hosted once again by kid-entertainer-turned-comedy-staple Jimmy Rees OAM.
This year’s event leans all-ages with acts including the Bluey Live Interactive Experience—a safe bet to keep both kids and parents howling.
For adults craving something a bit edgier, the Comedy Gala on the Green follows the next day, 18th April, spotlighting an international lineup topped by Haddish herself and hosted by Kiwi comic Guy Montgomery.
Comedy Cruise Makes Its Maiden Voyage On The Harbour

The 2026 festival also sets sail with a new venture—a Comedy Cruise on Sydney Harbour, where audiences can enjoy sets from festival comedians as the harbour skyline drifts by.
Meanwhile, the ever-popular Comedy Crawl expands citywide, with six themed routestraversing the rooftops, pubs, and clubs of suburbs from Manly to Oxford Street.
Across major stages, audiences can expect a mix of returning favourites and international names, including Daniel Sloss, Joanne McNally, Reuben Kaye and Celia Pacquola. For theatre-lovers, the classic whodunnit CLUEDO takes over the Theatre Royal from 11th–26th April.
Festival General Manager James Declase called this year’s program “the biggest Sydney Comedy Festival yet,” adding that “with almost 400 shows over five massive weeks of comedy, we can’t wait to share plenty of surprises with you.”
21 Years Of Laughs In Sydney
Finally, marking its 21st anniversary, the festival is expected to draw record crowds. NSW Minister for Jobs and Tourism Steve Kamper said the milestone “showcases why Sydney remains the nation’s cultural capital—bringing together global comedy stars and homegrown legends for world-class laughs.”
Moreover, supported by the NSW Government and Destination NSW, the Sydney Comedy Festival 2026 looks set to live up to its reputation as the city’s most jovial time of year.
