If you’re in need of some liquid therapy, the Sydney Cocktail Festival is making a return to the Opera Bar this month on April 9 and 10. Just at the right time too, with the sun finally deciding to make an appearance on our shores. In celebration of the city’s many brilliant small bars and the talented teams behind them, the two-day weekend fiesta will feature 26 knockout cocktails from 13 excellent bars.
Sydney Cocktail Festival
This year a number of local legends will take part in the festival including household names like Re, Maybe Sammy, PS40, and Double Deuce Lounge. Each day of the festival will highlight 7 bars serving up their signature drinks apart from a special cocktail available exclusively at the Sydney Cocktail Festival.
Shake up your regular weekends with PS40’s ‘Miami Vice’ — a part watermelon cooler, part pina colada or take a trip to Italy with Maybe Sammy’s citrusy ‘Bang Bang’.
Other highlights include Rosenbaum & Fuller’s ‘Zappo’, a heady concoction of Bombay Sapphire, blackcurrant liqueur, grape soda, verjus, and lemon for a cheeky bit of nostalgia. And cocktails aren’t the only thing on the menu. Let your hair down to live music and enjoy a bit of social cheer with performances on both days.
