Sydneysiders are bookish folk and we have an event to back up that claim. The city’s biggest book fair returns this week with a treasure trove of books and other offerings to feed the literary appetite of locals. Slated to return in July for four days, the festival will present over 110,000 pre-loved books across a variety of different genres alongside an equally dizzying line-up of video games, vinyl records, board games, jigsaw puzzles and more.
Sydney’s Biggest Book Fair by Lifeline
Scope out your next read from categories that include art, architecture, fiction, gardening, history, literature, sports, biographies and memoirs. Niche categories such as military, psychology, transport and travel, cookery and study guides will also be available to peruse.
Aside from several rows of tables stacked with books, the book fair will also feature comics, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, stamps, video games, board games and jigsaw puzzles so there’s something for everyone throughout the fair’s 4-day run.
The fair will also go digital this year so people who are unable to attend the event in person can shop for goods online thanks to the return of the Knox Book Fair Auction. Expect signed editions and rare books such as Joan Sutherland: Designs for a Prima Donna and Gracius Broinowski’s The Birds of Australia, among other treasures. Find the full auction list here.
