Who doesn’t love spring? It’s sunny, it’s colourful and it’s filled with sweet-smelling flowers. If you’re keen to get your fix of blooming flowers in Sydney and beyond, Parramatta’s Wistaria Gardens is secretly one of the best spots to enjoy the magic of spring. This September, the garden is hosting a giant spring party with live music, food, and entertainment to complement the spectacular display of flowers and entry is free. The event will take place over one weekend only with plenty of fun activities lined up for anthophiles.
September in Wistaria Gardens
Bask in sunshine and fresh flowers on the weekend of September 21 and 22 from 10am to 4pm as the gardens are in peak bloom. Celebrations include live music, food and beverages, and guided tours of the garden grounds. Plus, marvel at the vibrant colours of hanging wisteria, cherry, peach, and almond blossoms and see the revived garden beds filled with primulas, snapdragons, pansies and violas. There’s also First Nations cultural programs, art workshops, morning yoga, and photography sessions.
Wistaria Gardens came into being in 1907 and officially became part of Parramatta Park in 2022. Famous for its wisteria blossoms, the gardens have been brought back to life by dedicated efforts by Greater Sydney Parklands. Get more information about the event here.
