Celebrating its 15th year, Parramatta Lanes will return this October with four nights of food, music, art and entertainment, transforming Parramatta’s streets, laneways and public spaces into a vibrant open-air festival.
The free festival will run from 21st–24th October 2026, bringing an expanded program to the Parramatta CBD. Across 21 locations, visitors can discover more than 80 food vendors, 200+ music acts and hundreds of artists, alongside large-scale installations, pop-up bars and interactive experiences.
New and expanded precincts this year include the Latin Quarter and Concrete Skate, adding fresh food, cultural and entertainment experiences to the festival.
Giant sculptures and immersive art
The 2026 program will feature large-scale public art, immersive installations, interactive experiences and contemporary performances, with more than 500 artists and performers involved across the festival.
Among the highlights is PurseZilla by Benjamin Akuila, an illuminated inflatable sculpture exploring culture, identity and community. Visitors can also encounter Mechelle Bounpraseuth’s giant recreations of everyday food items, alongside OURO, an immersive installation by Samuel Kim and Lawrence Liang.
Rosie Deacon will present The Great Putty Pop-Up: Art Mini Golf, adding a playful and interactive element to the program.
The festival will also feature Sound Off, presented by Low and Slow Brisbane and New Zealand curator Edith Amituanai. The project will introduce Western Sydney audiences to Pasifika siren and sound culture.
Snuff Puppets will bring Human Body Organs to the streets in a giant roaming performance, while Marian Abboud will present a large-scale car installation and performance piece focused on community connections, volunteers and conversation.
A cultural playground after dark
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said the festival continued to highlight Parramatta’s role as Western Sydney’s cultural capital. “Parramatta Lanes is one of the best ways to explore our City after dark,” Cr Zaiter said.
“This year’s program features bold new commissions plus never-seen-before artwork that invite people to explore and experience art in unexpected ways.” The festival will attract an expected 400,000 visitors this year.
Moreover, Cr Zaiter said its expanded program would bring “world-class arts and performances to the heart of Parramatta”. “As Australia’s next global City, Parramatta is investing in culture and creativity as key drivers of our future, and Parramatta Lanes showcases the very best of our city’s energy, diversity and artistic talent,” he said.
Member for Parramatta Donna Davis said the event offered an important platform for Western Sydney’s creative community. “Parramatta Lanes brings out the best in our city,” Davis said. “It is a great opportunity to showcase artists and creatives and share their stories of Western Sydney.”
Food, music and entertainment
Food and music will remain at the heart of the Parramatta Lanes experience, with more than 80 vendors serving up a diverse range of flavours and 200+ music acts performing throughout the four nights.
The expanded Latin Quarter will provide a dedicated destination for food and culture, while Concrete Skate will add another layer of activity to the festival program. Pop-up bars, live performances and interactive experiences will also encourage visitors to move between Parramatta’s different precincts and discover what is happening around the city.
The full 2026 program is expected to be released online next month. Parramatta Lanes is funded by the City of Parramatta and Create NSW’s four-year Multi-year Funding Program.
