Opera Australia Costume Clearance Sale
Expect items from productions of classic operas including Boris Godunov, Carmen, Don Carlos, Iolanthe, Orpheus in the Underworld, and The Pearl Fishers among many others.
“Our last two clearance sales have been remarkedly popular, selling out on both occasions,” Rebecca Ritchie, Opera Australia’s wigs and wardrobe manager said.
“This is another fantastic opportunity for fans to become the proud owners of specific, incredible costumes and accessories that have had a life on the stages of the Arts Centre Melbourne, the Sydney Opera House and other venues around the country.”
Find rails filled with an array of fantasy costumes, men’s and women’s period clothing, traditional dresses, period hats, armour, and theatrical knick-knacks. You can purchase these one-of-a-kind pieces on April 14 and 15 from 10am to 4pm and 9am to 4pm respectively.
There’s limited street parking available so walking down from Central Station is recommended. Please note that the venue doesn’t have any dressing rooms and customers must bring their own bags. Only EFTPOS and credit card facilities are available on-site, with no cash. Entry to the event is free; happy hunting!
