What’s not to love about a classic jaffle?
The indulgent cheese toastie is the perfect pick-me-up and lucky for us, the best jaffles in Australia can be found right here at home. Miss Jaffles Café in South Sydney has been crowned the winner for the best jaffles in the country by Wotif in their 2021 Uniquely Aussie Awards.
The Wotif awards, now in their fourth year running, are based on thousands of public nominations and encourage Aussies to explore and discover hidden gems within Australia.
The Cronulla café first opened its doors in 2020. Although the timing was a bit risqué, the café served such delicious jaffles that they made an indelible impression across the city. Offering 15 different types of jaffles right from the classic baked bean or ham to the more inventive type like the mac and cheese, you get a whole lot of flavour and punch packed into this nostalgic food.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, the Biscoff jaffle stuffed with Caramilk chocolate comes highly recommended. Find out more about Miss Jaffles Cafe here.
Also contesting for best jaffles in Australia at the Wotif awards were eateries like Foxtrot Unicorn, Perth, TINY of Beechworth, Victoria, Union Kiosk, Melbourne and St J’s Deli, Hobart among others.
And that’s not all, the Beechwood Hotel in NSW was also crowned the best country pub in Australia. Double Whammy.
Other NSW nominees included Pelican Rocks Seafood Restaurant & Café at Greenwell Point for best hot chips and Sofitel Sydney, Darling Harbour for best hotel pool.
Unsurprisingly, the Booderee National Park in NSW/ACT was in the running for best national park in the country with Kakadu National Park in Jabiru, NT winning the title.
