Attention fellow dino nerds, the Hunter Valley Gardens are hosting an ext-roar-dinary day out this April with their exciting Mega Creatures and Mega Creatures Night Safari event. Take your little palentologists along for this family-friendly experience and enjoy rides, Easter egg hunts, interactive fossil digs, and more. Along the way you’ll encounter life-sized animatronic animals including Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Triceratops and more so it’s a must-visit if you can’t get enough of these prehistoric creatures.
The fun doesn’t stop there. After the sun sets, these giant creatures will continue roaming the premises with special lighing displays as part of the night safari. The Garden’s ever-popular rides The Carousel, Swing Chair, Giant Ferris Wheel, Tea Cup, and Superslide are also part of the line-up which just screams fun.
Mega Creatures and Mega Creatures Night Safari
Step back in time and fuel your imagination in the presence of mythical beasts at Dino Land, including some that breathe fire. Over at the Amphitheatre, get up close and personal with flying creatures from a bygone era. It’s like Jurraric Park but without the imminent danger and drama.
Aside from seeing these creatures lit-up at night at the night safari, guests can also see a collection of snakes and lizards on display on Reptile Road, if you’re into that kind of thing.
Plus there’s special Easter egg hunts organised over the Easter long weekend with thousands of colourful eggs to collect. The hunt’s will take place on April 7, 8 and 9 with three sessions per day at 10 am (for 6 years and younger only), 12.30 pm and 3 pm. The moving, roaring animatronic creatures are described as pretty realistic looking and life-sized so don’t miss out on this t-rexcellent experience this school holidays.
Mega Creatures will take over the Hunter Valley Gardens from April 1-30, just a 2-hour drive from Sydney. Get your tickets here.
