Cronulla’s dining and nightlife scene has a new all-day player, with the team behind local favourite Bobby’s opening the doors to Meadow—a hybrid music room, bar and bistro designed to carry you from long lunches to late-night cocktails.
Taking over the former Papa J’s site, Meadow leans into its coastal setting, pairing ocean views and natural light with a format that evolves as the hours roll on. It opens as a relaxed daytime spot before building into a more atmospheric evening venue, with a clear focus on lingering rather than rushing.
Owners Adam and Kylie Micola, of Anyway Hospitality, say the space itself was a major pull. “The site won us over immediately: natural light, ocean views, high ceilings and close proximity to Bobby’s made it a project we had to pursue,” Adam Micola said.
“Beyond the bones of the place, Meadow is about creating space—for music, for conversation and for people to settle in and let the night unfold.”
European leanings on the menu

In the kitchen, group executive chef Pablo Tordesillas has put together a menu that nods to European neighbourhood bistros, balancing polished technique with a laid-back, share-friendly approach.
Diners can indulge in snacks like gougères with comté and anchovy, and duck liver parfait with all the classic trimmings, alongside larger plates including baked rigatoni with vodka sauce, a café de Paris butter-topped cheeseburger, and grilled sirloin au poivre with frites. Desserts stay on theme, with a banana tarte tatin rounding things out.

Moreover, sommelier and winemaker Nick Rosa curates the drinks list, focusing on Australian producers—particularly those using organic and biodynamic practices—while borrowing structure from classic French wine lists.
Around 120–150 bottles are on offer, with a tight by-the-glass selection and larger-format pours for groups. Cocktails stick to recognisable classics, with a dedicated margarita section and a daily aperitivo hour (4–6pm) spotlighting staples like the French 75, Americano and a house “Meadow Mary”.
Music that builds into the night

Music plays a central role without dominating the room. Curated by DJ and producer Mitchell Wick, the program moves from vinyl during the day to live jazz on weekend afternoons and DJ sets into the night—designed to complement the atmosphere rather than compete with conversation.
Moreover, design studio Tom Mark Henry designed the 94-seat venue (with capacity for 120), continuing the aesthetic language established at Bobby’s. Inside, burnt orange, terracotta and mustard tones contrast with cooler blue hues around the DJ booth, while a serpentine banquette and long stone bar draw the eye. A disco ball overhead signals the shift from bistro to late-night hangout as the evening progresses.
Meadow is now open in Cronulla, trading from 5pm Wednesday and Thursday, and from midday through to late Friday to Sunday.
