Mayfield Garden Winter Festival
Walk through the gardens’ many brilliant bridges, paths and sculptures when the festival makes its comeback this July. You can also explore the Mayfield Amphitheater, Family Chapel, , Cascade and Temple, the Water Garden and Stumpery — all spread across the garden area. Mayfield Garden is also home to Australia’s largest English Box Hedge Maze, if you’re feeling a bit adventurous.
On the other hand, if you prefer sitting back and recalibrating, head to the Mayfield Garden Cafe. The rustic and cosy space offers an extensive breakfast and lunch menu including crowd favourites like cinnamon pancakes with whipped maple butter and candied walnuts. For lunch, you can expect hearty dishes like red wine braised beef cheeks with creamed potato, garden greens and sweet potato crisps.
There’s also a huge treasure hunt at the gardens to keep the kids busy. If you’re lucky, you can even catch some snowfall with Oberon already experiencing flurries of snow this month.
Australia’s largest privately owned garden is just a 2.5 hour drive from Sydney. The Mayfield Garden will be open during the Winter Festival from 9.00am to 4.30pm, with final entry at 3.00pm. Grab your beanies and puffer jackets and brighten up your winter at this lovely spot.
