Top 500 Bars, 2023
Using only AI, the list studied over two thousand sources on the web, in more than twenty languages using reviews and opinions to determine what experts, journalists, bartenders and the general public think the best spot to have a drink is. General consensus said Maybe Sammy was the most influential bar in the world with a number of Aussie venues making the cut. Sydney was also the most rewarded city in Australia on the list.
Located in The Rocks, Maybe Sammy takes inspiration from the 1950s — a time when “Hollywood glamour was revered and admired” according to the website. Regular live music is also a fixture at the venue with a strong focus on guest experience. It was also most recently named Australia’s best bar in this year’s World’s 50 Best Bars list. Small plates, beers and wines are served at the venue too but it’s the cocktails that get the rave reviews.
