Set your alarms for October — Mary’s is opening a brand new live music venue. Dubbed Liberty Hall, the venue will house 1200 people with an anything goes approach in terms of performances. Providing a platform for local, touring and international artists, the venue will take over the Entertainment Quarter opposite the Hordern Pavilion.
Liberty Hall, Entertainment Quarter
Whether you’re after late club nights, art shows or mainstream performances, Liberty Hall promises to be a ‘multi-use and multi-level’ space. It takes inspiration from venues around the world who have provided a platform and space for artists to explore their creativity.
“We see art as so deeply vital to the health of society. We hope we can create a home for free expression, of shared celebration and of deep connection. Liberty Hall will be a home for intimate moments and face tearing partying, for challenging conversations and shared experiences,” Mary’s Co-Owner Jake Smyth says.
Co-Owner Kenny Graham adds that the venue will be an exciting space for creatives with a commitment to ‘arts and culture.’
NSW 24-Hour Economy Commissioner Michael Rodrigues further added that the new venue would be pivotal in restoring Sydney’s live music scene.
“This new venue will give a platform for creative talent from Sydney and beyond, whilst also helping to revitalise the Entertainment Quarter precinct.”
He added the importance of the venue in building Sydney into a 24-hour economy.
And that’s not all. Right opposite Liberty Hall, the team is bringing a fancy new Mary’s with their uber famous burgers, beers, fried chicken and all the good vibes.
The party begins this October with lineup announcements to come soon. Watch this space for updates and check out their official website here.
