Lunar New Year is just around the corner. And as we prepare to enter the Year of the Dragon (which will hopefully bring power, strength and good fortune to all) there’s one cultural event in the calendar that we’re particularly excited about. After three years of immense success, Chatswood Year of the Dragon Festival will include the Lunar New Year Comedy Gala once again at The Concourse Concert Hall. Taking place on February 17 from 8pm-9.30pm, it promises to be the side-splitting celebration we all need to get the Year of the Dragon off to a roaring start.
Promising to be their biggest and best year yet, the Lunar Comedy Gala 2024 will see some of the top and emerging Asian comedians from Australia and abroad take to the stage. Prepare to be entertained and amused by a showstopping line-up, including special guest MC Netflix comedy sensation Jason Leong. Best known for his Netflix comedy special Hashtag Blessed, Leong will be the perfect host to guide you through the evening.
You can also look forward to titillating performances from Kevin Jin, Harry Jun, Ting Lim, Annie Louey, Chris Nguyen, Diana Nguyen, and Henry Yan. Whether it’s a night with friends and family, a fun plan for your next date, or simply a solo outing – it’s not one you want to miss!
With such a rich variety of Asian restaurants in Chatswood, you’re in the perfect place to indulge in a delicious pre-show meal to round off your Lunar New Year celebration.Lookout for the red ‘Festival Eats’ stickers at eateries serving up Lunar New Year delicacies. Dim sum at Mama Mulan, dumplings at Din Tai Fung, irresistible Thai food at Doodee King and hand-pulled noodles at Xin Jiang are just a few fantastic options to whet your appetite for the fantastic night of comedy that lies ahead.
