The last few months of lockdown were probably the quietest the CBD has ever been. All the usual bustling spots, right from eateries to cinemas and cafe’s posed a deserted picture. Now that the prolonged period of being homebound is behind us and balmy summers are upon us, there’s no reason to not be and about. Of all the exciting events taking the city by storm, a one-day only event dubbed Long Lunches & Late Nights is certainly one to add to your list.
Over at the CBD, a cluster of small bars centred around York, Clarence and Kent streets, more popularly known as YCK Laneways, is hosting a huge al fresco dining event and everyone’s invited.
YCK Laneways Long Lunches & Late Nights
Take advantage of the unlimited sunshine by heading over to the CBD for this one-day only event. As part of the Sydney’s Open for Lunch initiative supported by the NSW Government and Destination NSW, several YCK bars will be taking the action outside.
Notable names include Prince of York who will be hosting an Australian-Japanese fusion meal for 125 diners and a Mexican-inspired fiesta from the team at Esteban.
Also on offer is A Taste of Kent Street, a delectable three-course lunch with each course served by a nearby restaurant.
If you’ve missed the buzz of the CBD at night-time, continue the party with an exciting live music program at participating YCK bars. Tried and true Sydney faves like Sammy Jnr, The Lobo, Grandma’s Bar and Uncle Mings are all in on the fun.
A variety of free and ticketed events are on the table and bookings are recommended to snap up a spot.
Support our local hospo legends, who kept us going through a tough lockdown and mark your calendars for December 3. Check out the full program here.
