Bondi bike riders should double-check their parking tomorrow because this time a “fine” could actually win them lunch. While riders often zip through streets and ditch bikes wherever they please, this time good etiquette comes with a gift.
On Wednesday, 22nd April, Lime is flipping the script on parking enforcement, rewarding riders who do the right thing with free rides and a complimentary meal in the heart of Bondi.
Rewarding Good Behaviour

Instead of penalties, Lime’s roaming “Parking Wardens” will be handing out bright green tickets to users who park their e-bikes correctly along hotspots like Hall Street and Campbell Parade.
Each ticket comes loaded with free Lime minutes and a $25 lunch at Gertrude & Alice Cafe Bookstore—a local favourite that’s been part of Bondi’s fabric for 25 years.
The initiative tackles one of the biggest gripes about shared e-bikes by addressing constant messy, inconsiderate parking. While councils across Sydney have tightened regulations on micromobility in recent years, Lime is taking a softer approach by treating good behaviour rather than punishing the bad.
Lime’s Senior Operations Manager Lara Nickless says the idea is simple: reinforce the habits most riders are already getting right. “We know most of our riders park responsibly, and we want to show them how important it is to maintain this with gratitude from us,” she said.
Earn a “Fine” the Right Way

The giveaway kicks off from 9am, with just 100 “fines” up for grabs—meaning early riders will have the best shot at cashing in. To qualify, users simply need to ride a LimeBike in Bondi, park it neatly in a designated area, and catch the attention of one of Lime’s wardens.
Beyond the free feed, the campaign also spotlights Gertrude & Alice, the independently owned bookstore-cafe that’s become a Bondi institution since opening in 2001.
By partnering with a local business, Lime is leaning into a more community-driven style of raising awareness, which is increasingly expected of global tech platforms operating in tight-knit neighbourhoods.
And while a free lunch on a Wednesday might feel like a small win, it’s also part of a broader push to make shared transport work better for everyone—riders, pedestrians and locals alike.
