Picture this: a glowing circular stage in the centre of The Grand Electric in Surry Hills, with a giant, dazzling disco ball hanging suspended from the ceiling, giving a taste of what’s to come. No matter where you’re seated, whether in the premium ringside spots or the elevated mezzanine gallery, you’ll have a perfect view of the madness that’s about to unfold.
From the moment the lights dimmed, our team at Secret Sydney were transported into a world of sensuality and skill. The cast spun, flipped, and flew across the stage in a seamless series of acts: dizzying trapeze routines, performers balancing on flaming ladders, a hilarious tricycle act, mesmerising hoop tricks, and various aerial silks that shimmered and stunned under spectacular lighting. And amid the breathtaking routines, a powerhouse vocalist stole the spotlight, delivering soaring notes while perched on top of that glittering disco ball high above the stage.
The whole performance hit that rare balance of raunchy and refined, cheeky enough to make us both laugh and blush, but never losing its sense of elegance or wonder. Each act rolled into the next with a killer soundtrack that perfectly matched the vibe of the artist. Between the acrobatics, the clever comedy interludes and the seductive cabaret routines, every act achieved its goal to delight, surprise, and leave us craving more.
After the show, we stepped outside to The Grand Electric’s courtyard to grab a drink and let our heart rates return to normal. It was the perfect way to come down from the adrenaline rush while chatting about our favourite moments (we couldn’t decide between the fire, some absurdly comical biscuits, or the sheer audacity of the performers).
