Kosta’s Takeaway, a Rockdale favourite sandwich joint, has opened a second outpost in Circular Quay promising “classic, not basic” sangas loaded with wholesome ingredients and made fresh to order. It features a variety of sandwiches with a simple philosophy of zero theatrics and complete flavour. To quote their website verbatim: “No pretty pink flowers and veggie bowl bullshit.”
The OG Kosta’s Takeaway also features blue-and-white-striped decor as a nod to the founder’s Greek heritage.
Kosta’s Takeaway, Circular Quay
Kosta’s runs on three key guiding principles: keep it simple, flavour is everything, and more is more. We couldn’t agree with that last one.
Menu highlights include their crowd-favourite tuna melt with schiacciata, tuna, cheese, mayonnaise, capers, eschlot and herbs, the stuffed super deli sandwich featuring panini, ham, sopressa, mortadella, marinated peppers and salsa verde, and the classic schnitty sandwich with an olive oil bun, panko-crumbed chicken, parsley, lemon, pickle mayonnaise, iceberg lettuce, eschalot and cheese.
But sandwiches aren’t all you’ll get here. Also on the menu are stacked burgers and a number of vegetarian options to dig into. Plus expect classic shakes and good coffee to wash it all down.
