A swanky new restaurant has opened its doors in Sydney and it’s already making waves. Marrickville is now home to Kin Dining and Bar, a suave new spot dishing out a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavours with contemporary Australian cuisine. Chef-owner Peter Wu has also introduced a strict adults-only policy with the intention of creating an intimate environment for special occasions like anniversaries and engagements and we’re all for it tbh. Here’s what you need to know about the new kid on the restaurant block.
Kin Dining and Bar, Marrickville
Expect wholesome truffle mushroom pasta, roast chicken abodo, thinly sliced beef with a teriyaki glaze and a sublime rib eye with roasted bone marrow and ‘nduja butter on the menu. The drink offerings are just as good with cocktails, beers, wines, tequila shots and more.
Thanks to their no-kids stance, you can expect a noise-free setting and an evening of bliss without any unruly kids or safety concerns. Under-18s are strictly not allowed here and restaurantgoers are not exactly up in arms about it. In fact, a poll conducted by ABC revealed that 88 percent of their listeners were cool with the kiddo ban. It’s not the only restaurant in Sydney to introduce such a rule. Quay in Circular Quay only allows kids over the age of seven and elegant steakhouse Gidley only admits guests over the age of 18 so you know where to go for your next “grown-up” dinner sans any distractions.
