Darlinghurst’s Kasbah is a newly opened rooftop bar on top of the Strand Hotel and it’s designed for memorable sundowners. The open-air spot comes with Moroccan-inspired decor and casual food and drink options and it’s the perfect summer hangout spot. Kasbah infuses The Strand with fresh new energy and comes with earthy pastel tones, a cocktail menu courtesy of the Maybe Sammy team and Balearic music. The views over downtown Sydney aren’t bad either. The venue recently swung its doors alongside the property’s vibey basement restaurant Strand Bistrothèque.
Kasbah, Darlinghurst
Expect rooftop elegance and Mediterranean flavours at this brand new spot. Menu offerings include French/Moroccan-inspired small grazing plates ideally enjoyed on the comfy vintage lounges of the rooftop bar. Food highlights include yellowfin tuna crudo with piquillo peppers, flavourful lemon and saffron vinaigrette, duck, pistachio and burnt honey pastilla and spiced tiger prawns with ginger, turmeric, and coriander.
But what’s a rooftop bar without some tasty drinks to boot? Cocktails by Maybe Sammy are a major highlight and include drinks like The Silk Road which is vodka with coffee liquor and Ficus, a mix of gin, fig and ginger along with a short menu of natural wines with a focus on sparkling, whites, and rosé.
Kasbah’s design takes inspiration from Marrakesh pastel tones with vibrant tiles, Persian rugs and a swathe of open space to lounge around in.
If you want to ensure that good times continue into the night, head down to the newly introduced Strand Bistrothèque on the Ground Level and enjoy classic French dishes, a specially curated wine list also by the Maybe Sammy team and craft beers.
The reintroduced Strand Bistrothèque and Kasbah Rooftop Bar are now open at The Strand Hotel. Make a booking here.
