After a historic run at the Opera House with Phantom of the Opera, Andrew Lloyd Webber is returning with yet another dazzling production. Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is making its way to Sydney after a successful run in Melbourne this February. The multi-award-winning show will kick off at the Capitol Theatre.
Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Led by a principal cast of Paulini as The Narrator, Euan Fistrovic Doidge as Joseph, and Trevor Ashley in the role of Pharaoh, the musical follows the Biblical story of Jacob and his favourite son Joseph and his eleven brothers. Joseph is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and gets imprisoned by an Egyptian noble Potiphar. While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams and eventually becomes Pharaoh’s right-hand man.
The show has been performed in over 80 countries worldwide including sell out seasons at the London Palladium. Featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, the production is helmed by director Laurence Connor and choreographed by Joann M Hunter. Theatre lovers can expect a medley of pop and songs that are now considered classics, including Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door to Me, and Go Go Go Joseph.
