Are you a dog person? Have you always dreamt of having a puppy? If you answered yes to those questions, then Guide Dogs NSW might have the dream job for you. The organisation is calling on everyday Australians to open their homes and hearts to some adorable guide dog puppies by volunteering as puppy raisers. For 12 months of your life, you could own a puppy for free and make a new best friend for life.
Guide Dogs NSW calls out for puppy raisers
Wondering how this works? Basically you’ll be responsible for the care, basic training and most importantly providing a loving and safe home to guide dogs as young as 8 weeks old as a volunteer puppy raiser. Their well being would include feeding and sleeping along with toilet training and disciplined walking routines.
You’ll need to attend weekly training sessions so your pup can learn basic skills while being well groomed and well fed like all puppies deserve.
To make things easier for you, Guide Dogs NSW will take care of food, vet care and medication requirements of your labrador puppy.
If we’ve piqued your interest, this is what you need to qualify — a fully fenced yard, access to a car and the ability to attend training days in your local area. You must also not be away from home for more than four hours at a time.
