Golden Century was one of many excellent hospitality venues that had to shut its doors in 2021. After 32 years of operation, it was deemed a leading force in Sydney’s Cantonese cuisine. In some welcome news, the dining institution is now returning with a brand new outpost. Golden Century BBQ is the latest addition to the Golden Century Group and it’s a casual Cantonese BBQ concept. Although not quite like the old one, you can expect all the trademark Golden Century flavours in their stacked menu.

You’ll find Golden Century’s new digs inside the Exchange Building in Darling Square which is also home to their sister venue, XOPP. Menu offerings embody classic Golden Century flavours while also introducing new dishes. Highlights include the Golden Century signature Roast Duck with a choice of rice or noodles for $21, char siu (pork) barbecued over an open flame for $19 and a selection of dim sums prepared in-house.
Golden Century regulars will be happy to know that their famous XO Pippies sauce will also be available to purchase for just $4 along with a selection of beer and wine, as well as traditional Chinese drinks.
“We want our customers to feel like they’re eating at a restaurant without actually having to dine inside a restaurant. Quality is at the forefront of Golden Century ethos so it’s important for us to ensure the quality of our dishes at Golden Century BBQ reflect that of our restaurants,” owner Billy Wong said in a statement.
Golden Century BBQ will be open six days a week, book a table asap!
