Vivid Sydney, night markets and French festivals are on the horizon for Sydney this winter, but they’re not the only after-dark experiences on the calendar. GLOW is also set to return next week, offering an equally exciting alternative in the heart of Western Sydney. Running as a glowing night trail, the event will transform Sydney Zoo with large-scale light installations, illuminated displays and immersive sound. Visitors will follow a set path through the zoo, moving between a series of themed zones without having to navigate the city crowds. Here’s everything you need to know about the returning event.
GLOW at Sydney Zoo returns for 2026

Now in its fifth year, GLOW returns with an expanded trail that guides visitors through different sections of the zoo after dark. Built around a single, continuous path, the experience features large-scale light installations alongside updated lighting and sound that changes as you move through each section. This year introduces new interactive elements along the route, with some sections designed to respond to movement or touch.
The Luna Light Journey is one of the main highlights at Glow this year, combining projection, lighting and sound in a dedicated section of the trail. Beyond the trail, there’s also a dedicated entertainment area near the entrance, with carnival-style rides, food and drink options, and space to spend time before or after the walk.
Designed as a fully walkable experience, Glow is suitable for all ages, including families and groups. With limited nightly capacity and timed entry, it’s best to book ahead, especially for weekends, which tend to sell out first.
