GLOW at Sydney Zoo
We can’t get enough of immersive light events in Sydney which is great because creative minds in the city don’t seem to be running out of ideas either.
Glow at Sydney Zoo is another festival that’s not to be missed so wear your comfiest shoes and get ready to explore the interactive space. On the horizon are a number of thrilling events for kids and adults alike.
Everything happening at Glow
Follow an illuminated trail and get up close with giant light sculptures and animal lanterns with the Glow Light Walk. Along the way, you’ll also find a sparkling light tunnel and a neon angel wings sculpture for all the photo ops. One installation to look out for is the Octopoda. It features eight huge lit-up tentacle drums drenched in colour.
Have your face painted by Aboriginal guides using glowing ochre and explore Australia’s largest reptile and nocturnal animal house to see some unique and famous species.
You can also walk under an illuminated rainbow pathway, glide around on a giant ice skating rink or wander around an enchanted garden filled with fluorescent blooms.
Along with all these spanking aesthetics, a variety of food and drink options will be available on site and they don’t steer too far from the whimsical neon theme. We’re talking glow in the dark fairy floss, lush barbecue and glowing drinks in light bulbs.
Glow at Sydney Zoo promises it will rival Vivid Sydney, we’ll have to wait and see but we’re certainly stoked to explore this glittering new wonderland.
The festival runs from May 13 until June 5 and tickets are already selling out fast. You can use your Discover voucher to get a sweet discount off the original ticket price.
